onSET is an internationally-recognized online language placement test which evaluates general German language skills quickly, simply, and precisely.
What is onSET Exam?
onSET is an internationally recognized online language placement test that evaluates general German language skills in a fast, simple, and precise manner. The test consists of eight short texts on various topics and at different levels of difficulty. It is a fill-in-the-gap test taken via the Internet and usually takes around forty minutes to complete. Results are available instantly upon completion and are documented according to the CEFR (Common European Reference for Languages) guidelines, which define A2 to C1 levels.
onSET Exam Objective:
- The onSET measures your general language skills, in German or English.
- The onSET makes it easier for you to find the learning group that matches your language level. This increases your learning success.
- The onSET classification is based on the CEFR and is proof of your language competence, e.g. for employers.
- Immediately after the test you will know your language level. The test duration is a maximum of 40 minutes.
- You can estimate your chances of success in language tests such as the TestDaF. The TestDaF is required for admission to studies.
- The onSET certificate is important for your application for a DAAD scholarship.
